The first wave of Assam floods seems to be normalising with receding water levels. However, yesterday night, many places in the state experienced thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.

New Delhi | As per latest IMD reports, it has predicted widespread to fairlywidespread rains in most parts of the state today.

As per latest reports, none of the rivers are flowing above danger level. The number of flood affected people have reduced to 1,55,896 in the last 24 hours.

According to Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA),the districts affected due to floods in the last 24 hours have fallen from 15 to 11 which includes Bajali,Baksa, Barpeta, Bongaigaon,Darrang, Dhubri, Dibrugarh,Lakhimpur,Golaghat,Kamrup, Nalbari and Tamulpur. The urban district affected is Kokrajhar. 23 revenue circles are affected by the deluge.

As per latest data, 563 villages remain affected by flood waters , with the highest number of villages in Kamrup,followed by Nalbari and Barpeta. 3801.63 hectares of crop areas continue to remain affected by the flood and animals affected are more than 1,67,086.

A total of 99 relief centres were in operation yesterday with 29 Relief camps and 70 relief distribution centres in flood affected districts.As of now, 2915 inmates are living in relief camps.NDRF,SDRF along with the local administrations teams have also continuously monitoring the flood situation. As per latest reports, yesterday 1 boat was deployed in rescue operations and 10 medical teams were deployed to provide health facilities to flood victims. In the last 24 hours, 2 human lives have been lost due to flood related incident taking the death toll to 5.
